HGS Attorneys Argue Property Rights Case Before Supreme Court

This week, HGS attorneys argued the property rights case, Stop the Beach Renourishment, Inc v. Florida, before the United States Supreme Court.  Earlier this week, the Washington Post featured an editorial supporting the firm's position in that case.  One issue presented for review in that case is whether a judicial decision can create a taking prohibited by the Fifth Amendment. The issue resulted from a Florida Supreme Court 2008 decision that a statutory beach renourishment program did not infringe on private property rights.
