HGS Shareholder Speaks Concerning CDD Bonds

Jonathan T. Johnson has been asked to speak in a number of venues regarding community development district bonds and related matters.  He spoke recently at the ULI Tampa’s seminar “Surviving the Cycle” and ULI North Florida’s “Art of the Deal”. He is also lecturing for CLE International in their “Real Estate Restructuring” conferences in Orlando, Miami and Atlanta.   Jonathan Johnson stated: "Real estate turmoil throughout the nation has increased potential defaults in land-secured bonds.  Community Development Districts and similar special taxing districts are working closely with bondholders, developers and other affected parties to implement appropriate solutions through foreclosure, forbearance or debt restructuring."  In the Fall of 2009, Jonathan will be a panelist at the National Association of Bond Lawyers 2009 Bond Attorney’s Workshop in Phoenix, Arizona addressing similar issues.  Jonathan's practice focuses on community development districts and other special districts, including the establishment, financing, and operation of such districts as well as due diligence and post-default matters.  The firm is one of the leaders in this field, representing more than 160 special districts.
