Law School to Honor HGS Shareholder, Angela Morrison Uhland 

The Oklahoma City University School of Law honored Angela Morrison Uhland, a 1990 graduate, at its annual Law Review Banquet as an Outstanding Law Review Alumna for 2010.  This year's OCU Law Review Banquet was held on March 26th at the Skirven Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City.      

Ms. Uhland was a Hatton W. Sumners Scholar and Managing Editor of the Law Review while at OCU and graduated with High Distinction.  She has spent her career practicing in Florida with the Tallahassee firm of Hopping Green &  Sams, become a leading environmental lawyer in Florida.  "I am very flattered to be honored in this way by my law school alma mater.  My success stems from my law school education and the opportunities I had while at OCU.  I enjoy my practice in the area of renewable energy and electric utilities and appreciated the opportunity to share information about this cutting-edge practice with the lawyers of tomorrow," said Ms. Uhland regarding this award. 

In addition to attending the banquet, Ms. Uhland spoke to OCU law students at a special program co-sponsored by the Office of the Dean and two of OCU's student organizations, the Agricultural and Environment Law Association and the Energy Law Association.  Ms. Uhland shared insights regarding environmental and land use issues associated with siting biopower and biofuel projects, the current focus of her practice.  She also shared information about energy crop issues, air quality and climate change issues, and renewable portfolio standards.  At the request of a former professor, she also spoke to a class of first year law students, sharing her experiences and answering questions about her practice.  You can find more information about Ms. Uhland at http://www.hgslaw.com/lawyers/angela-m-uhland.html.
