Firm Assists Developer in Protecting His Property Rights

Hopping Green & Sams is assisting a Fort Lauderdale developer in protecting his property rights in a dispute with the City of Fort Lauderdale.  The property owner and developer proposed a hotel-marina-retail project known as The Sails, which was recently rejected by the City Commission.  The firm has been hired to protect the developer's rights under Florida's Bert J. Harris Jr. Private Property Rights Protection Act, which requires government to compensate a land owner if the government denies the land owner's reasonable expectation for use of the land.  The firm has extensive experience in the area of property rights litigation, including the expertise of Dan Stengle who was one of the drafters of the Bert Harris Act.

For more information about this matter or if you have any questions about the Bert Harris Act or similar issues, please contact Dan Stengle  or Kent Safriet. We look forward to providing top-quality legal service to our clients on these issues.
