Wade L. Hopping Institute for Private Property Rights Created
The Pacific Legal Foundation has announced the formation of the Wade L. Hopping Institute for Private Property Rights at its Atlantic Center in Stuart, Florida, and the establishment of the Pro Bono Attorney Network which will operate as part of the Institute. “The Institute will serve to permanently commemorate Wade’s leadership, legislative advocacy and vigilant determination to win landmark court decisions that protect the right to own and use private property.” Mr. Hopping served as member and past president of the Pacific Legal Foundation’s Board of Trustees. He was a former justice of the Florida Supreme Court and founding partner of the Tallahassee law firm of Hopping Green & Sams. At the time of his death in 2009 at the age of 77, Wade was actively engaged in legal and legislative representation of a number of clients for the firm.
